Volume suddenly drops to zero in Spotify

My Question or Issue

When listening to music, the Spotify volume suddenly drops to zero. Happens randomly and it does not matter which song I'm playing.

I thought it might have something to do with the normalize volume setting, but even when turned off (it was initially on) the volume still goes to zero.

I have version 1.1.17.543.geb9254e9 (Microsoft Store version) of Spotify.

thanks for posting !

Please make sure you don't have any other devices connected to your account through Spotify Connect.

The reason behind it is that they might effect the sound between devices.

In addition, make sure your system and audio drivers are updated and perform a clean reinstall of the app.

Happening to me this evening on v1.1.18.611.*

4 times in the past hour or so. Checked for devices, nothing unknown in them (have seen that before where an unrecognized device name was showing up in my account incorrectly with Spotify claiming ignorance of it being their fault)

Just happened a 5th time while typing .. I had the About window open so I could get the version number, and the help-> about screen suddenly faded away and volume dropped to zero. less than 7 minutes from previous occurrence.
