My Question or Issue

Playback skips anytime the processor does anything slightly more intense than typing, e.g. opening a program or browser, clicking a link, opening a file, etc.

Is this a known issue? This is a relatively new phenomenon for me. I have 8gb ram, which should be enough. I can run CAD software on here, no problem.

Hey @piercewi, welcome to the Community.

Hope you are doing great!

Try to disable Hardware Acceleration, just click on the … top left corner, inside the View tab find Hardware Acceleration and next click on it to disable then confirm to restart Spotify.

No change unfortunately. It’s definitely processor or RAM based. Anything
taxing on the system causes spotify to struggle. A weird phenomenon.
Happens on web and desktop app.
