It now looks like the web player UI instead of the traditional UI of the desktop app. After talking to support, it appears that this is part of some A/B testing, as others have noted here:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Desktop-Windows/Unable-to-edit-playlist-cover/td-p/4948369#
https://community.spotify.com/t5/Live-Ideas/Desktop-Allow-an-optional-switch-between-desktop-and-web-player/idi-p/4939463#

As a paying premium subscriber, I would like the option to opt out of this ridiculous forced A/B testing. The web player UI is severely limited, as noted in the second link above. I cannot even select multiple songs using ctrl+A or shift+click. I had to use a third-party app (spotmybackup.com) to copy a playlist from my old account. Using the new UI, I would have had to select each of my 1000 songs individually, and add them to a new playlist. To the people at Spotify running this A/B test: your test has failed. Please let me use the fully featured desktop UI again.

If you're not a big fan of the new UI, as the majority from what I've seen aren't either, check the r/Spotify and follow the pinned post on there. I'd recommend checking the comment made by u/Reubzen which I've found to be of real help. I imagine a moderator/community member will give some vague advice but this seems to be the only way to revert for me at least. Hope that helps 🙂
