How to disable Hardware Media Key ?

My Question or Issue

Hi, I like to use my keyboard hardware media key for other apps such as Discord, Chrome, etc and I would like to know if there is a hidden option to disable Spotify from using those keys.
I've looked in the settings apps, tried the Desktop and Windows Store app, googled a bit only to find someone having the same issue as me without a reply.

If you know anything, let me know, please !

Thanks for reaching out!

Currently it's not possible to disable hardware media keys from the Spotify app.

The thing you can try though is to make sure that the media keys are enabled for Chrome by pasting chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling in your browser.

I'm a premium user and I need this feature, because my headset stops all output of all audio sources as soon as I pause a track in Spotify due to a silly decision by the Firmware developers to do so when the HardwareMediaKeyHandling reports a pause-event.
