Cannot find Chromecast from Windows desktop app

My Question or Issue

Not able to find Chromecast from Spotify desktop from Windows. Everytime I need to get the Android app, find Chromecast there and then eventually I can use it from desktop too. This is not user friendly and quite annoying to do every time.

how can I fix it?

Hello @fedenrico and welcome to the community.

I am under Windows 10 on Desktop Beta Version : 1.1.38.558 and this issue is now fixed. I have 2 Chromecast in different rooms and they are now perfectly recognized by Spotify Connect.

I don't know what Desktop version is yours, but I am certain that a close future update will fix your problem.

I'm not on the beta and today this feature showed up for me (same version number: 1.1.38.558). I'm really happy that this is finally working. I was always able to start the stream with my phone but I really like having the option to start the music on my stereo with just my laptop.
