    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hey &lt;a href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/15101736"&gt;@rook13&lt;/a&gt;, welcome to the Community!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your issue sounds a lot like &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Desktop-Spotify-becomes-unresponsive-when-using-Search/idi-p/4991374" target="_self"&gt;this Ongoing Issue&lt;/A&gt;, only that your client just terminates itself instead of freezing.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Either way it would be a good idea to check out that and also share a screen recording of what's happening when you try to search. &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":slightly_smiling_face:"&gt;🙂&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Does your Spotify app close itself when you attempt to use the filter feature to find a track in a playlist, as well?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Someone in the Issue thread presented the following method that might be helpful for you too:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Spotify searches from your local files too even when they're disabled. To fully disable them to stop the search from doing this you need to&lt;BR /&gt;1. go to your Preferences and scroll to Local Files.&lt;BR /&gt;2. Enable the Local Files&lt;BR /&gt;3. Disable all sources (Music, Downloads, everything)&lt;BR /&gt;4. Now disable Local Files.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Let me know how you get on!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
