&lt;P&gt;What you could try is uninstalling the app in &lt;A href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode-in-windows-10-92c27cff-db89-8644-1ce4-b3e5e56fe234" target="_blank"&gt;Windows safe&lt;/A&gt; mode. This way you can permanently delete all potentially corrupted files associated with the app.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Follow the steps from this &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Answers/How-can-I-perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485" target="_blank"&gt;guide &lt;/A&gt;exactly, in order to perform a clean reinstall.&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Windows 10 Desktop app black screen only</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Have reinstalled a number of times (from Spotify AND Windows Store) and tried all the solutions on here but the desktop app only opens with a black screen, as below :-&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="daveork_0-1602234911184.png" style="width: 313px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.spotify.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/121756i7879D5234DD77AB9/image-dimensions/313x176?v=v2" width="313" height="176" role="button" title="daveork_0-1602234911184.png" alt="daveork_0-1602234911184.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This seems fairly common and has been happening for some time, but nothing appears to work for me.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help appreciated?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;P.S.
