local files arent playing

I use local files a lot and about 2 weeks ago they just stopped playing out of nowhere. Whenever I try to play a local file I don't get any error messages but it the audio doesnt play and the song is stuck at 0:00 like pictured below.

I tried to download a codec pack because that apparently should help my problem but it didn't seem to do anything, not sure if I downloaded the correct thing or not though. I tried downloading Quicktime Player and reinstalling Spotify multiple times I'm not sure what the problem would be. Anyone else have this problem I miss local files.

Would you mind taking a look here and double-checking you fulfill all the conditions the Community Rock Star listed?

As a heads-up, it'd also be great to double-check the source of the files since Spotify won't allow anything from illegal sources.

after i updated windows the problem fixed itself
