My Question or Issue

It doesn't matter how many times I turn "Show desktop overlay when using media keys" on and off, it just won't show. At the moment I have it turned on and whenever I use my media keys it won't show.

I've already tried to set my default music playing app as Spotify but I can't, it only lets me do Groove Music and Windows Media Player.

I have the Google Play extension disabled.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

We'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app. This can be helpful to get rid of any corrupted files that might be causing this behavior.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you let us know the exact Spotify version running on your PC?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

I've already tried reinstalling several times, I'm using the 1.1.52.687.gf5565fe5 version of Spotify.

Hi @nqthan_,

Thanks for getting back in touch and letting us know that.

We suggest that you check the firewall and the anti-virus on your PC and make sure Spotify is set as an exception.

Additionally, if you're using a VPN try disabling that.

I can't see the pop up overlay when using the media keys on my keyboard?

I used to be able to see basic song info in a small pop up window while gaming, when I paused or skipped songs using the media functions of my keyboard. I no longer see this info (song title, artist...) ever. I saw the switch in settings to turn this on but either way it does not work for me.
