I first thought it might have been someone tampering with my account so I signed out and changed passwords. Still it continued to I tried to download the files locally. No Bueno.

I then tried reinstalling Spotify which worked for a little while, now I'm back to square one again. something is causing it to stop playing. I'm about done with the windows app.

I do have a DSP drivers installed for a USB interface, but I doubt that would cause any issues.

Device type: Steinberg UR44C USB interface

This is about the only non-standard device on my PC.

I noticed that switching to offline mode does seem to temporarily fix this issue for me. Please don't tell me my internet is slow because its not. Im sure if I can download a gigabyte of data in a matter of 5 minutes, i should have more that adequate bandwidth for some audio streaming. Thanks in advance.

Hi @stephenfrost61,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!

If you still need help with this the app stopping playback try the following:

Perform a clean reinstall of the app, following the steps from this Guide. This is different than a regular reinstallation as it involves completely clearing all app data.

Clear any entries containing Spotify from the Host files on your PC. You can follow the steps from this post.

Keep us posted on how you get on with this.

Cheers.

Hey @stephenfrost61,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

We suggested to run a clean reinstall of the Spotify app by following the steps in the guide shared above, and clear all entries containing the words spotify or fastly from your hosts files. You just need to follow the instructions in this article.

Keep us in the loop.
