Hey @MaxC22729,

Thanks for sending us this info.

Another useful step in is to change the source folder of the local files on the pc. The steps are: Uninstall Spotify on both devices > create a new folder somewhere else on the pc and move the local files there > install Spotify again > remove any potential source folders and add the new one > download the playlist again.

If this doesn't do the trick, take a look at the steps and recommendations you'll find in this Spotify Answer about local files. If you've already checked those steps and the issue still persists, could you let us know what exactly you've tried from there?

Let us know how it goes 🙂

This has been a repeated issue for me in the past several months and is seriously obnoxious, especially since every time I have to reinstall the app I then have to go through the process of reintroducing every single local file song in my playlists. Does anybody else have a similar issue?

Note as well that I do have secondary directories before this happens, so it also wipes out all those libraries at the same time, leaving only the invisible name directory and downloads (which still doesn't display.)

Hey there @MaxC22729,

Thank you for your post here in the Community. We're happy to help.

Can you confirm if you followed these steps when you reinstalled the app? This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If you followed the steps above, can you let us know which version of the app you have?

We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

Cheers!

This isn't the issue, it's that when I enable local files, the folder literally doesn't appear. If you look at the screenshot I sent when I opened this thread, the Local Files tab (which appears at the top of the playlist list normally) simply never appears. I have wiped my local files multiple times, reinstalled and cleared cache, but nothing seems to fix this issue. I have tried both the Windows 10 Store and standard Windows Spotify releases and both have suffered from the same problem.

Can you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on your computer and let us know if this behavior persists with a different account?

Additionally, could you try restarting your computer while in Safe Mode to see if the issue persists?

We'd also like to confirm if you can turn on the toggle that appears without a name and if that works as expected.
