Spotify can't load profile or play any non-downloaded song

My Question or Issue

Spotify is unable to play any music that isn't downloaded to the PC, nor is it able to load my profile with playlists after my reinstalls.

I've tried restarting, logging out and back in, playing with hardware acceleration off, removing its user/appdata folder, reinstalling it and lastly I tried to access the win32 hosts file but it had no connections to any spotify or lastly ips.

I use a pi-hole to remove ads on my home network, but that shouldn't be an issue since Spotify is working on my iPhone which is connected to the same network.

Edit: Since posting this I figured I could use the web browser player, but that too isn't working, just throws me back a message that I should try again later.

Edit 2: FIXED! It was indeed my Pi-hole forcing the Spotify client not to connect to its domain. I simply whitelisted the domain (spclient.wg.spotify.com) on my Pi-hole and now everything is working again. Thank you everyone and good luck with your issues!

My Question or Issue:

Spotify does not play any songs. If I click play it simply does nothing. Radios are unable to even list the songs. I cant check if downloaded songs are playable because I dont have any.
I followed the clean Reinstall Post and even done that multiple Times.

I checked my Firewall, tried change some things there, didnt do anything.

I opend Spotify as Administrator didnt work.

On my Phone in the same network is no Issue at all.

I dont have a Pi-hole or something like that.

I have solved it on my PC!!!

for anybody with the same Issue here is what I did:

go to "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc"

select the "hosts" file
its likely that u have to use administrator powers to open and change things there.

Open this file with an Editor and look for an Line which contains Spotify and delet the whole line.

Sadly I tried this earlier. My hosts file is unchanged and contains no Spotify related addresses. I'll have to wait until a fix I guess. Thanks for the replies though 🙂

Can you let us know if you performed a clean reinstall? This is different from a quick reinstall and could be helpful to get rid of any cached files that might be causing trouble.

If the issue still persist, can you log in with another account on the device - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persist?

I've been looking for a way to fix this problem for days, finally someone posted about it.

My Question or Issue:

My playlists do not show up along the left bar of Spotify anymore, and clicking on my profile to try and view it, it loads for 15-20 seconds and then displays "Couldn't find that page, Search for something else?"

Spotify works perfectly fine and I can access my profile page on mobile.

I have tried both a quick reinstall, a complete clean reinstall, updating windows, logging out on all accounts and logging back in, but nothing has worked as of yet.

We'd recommend giving these steps a try in order to check your host files.

If this doesn't do the trick, could you let us know if you notice the same behavior using the web player?

Thanks for responding so quickly,
Tried the host files, nothing about Spotify in them, and messing around with it yielded no results.
However, in the web player, my playlists DO appear on the left sidebar, but trying to see my profile still gives me "Couldn't find that page"

In case you're using a firewall or Antivirus, we suggest making sure that they're not blocking Spotify.

Additionally, could you ask a friend or a family member to log in to their account using your device to see if they can replicate the issue?

Hi,
Firewall allows Spotify through, and I checked my antivirus as well, all should be fine.
Testing with another account on this device, on the desktop Spotify, the left sidebar now works, but my original profile still does not load.
I'd assume that means it's definitely something to do with my profile specifically and not anything on this computer or internet connection.

If possible, could you log in to your account using a different computer and let us know if you notice anything new?

You can also try running the app as Administrator.

Sadly I don't have access to another computer at the moment,
and running as administrator changed nothing.

And just to make clear from my last post, the left side bar still does not work on my account, it only worked when signed in on another account on this computer.

Thank you to everyone that engaged in the topic, I however found out what caused my error. It WAS my recently updated Pi-hole that caused my client not being able to fully communicate with the Spotify server (specifically the spclient.wg.spotify.com domain it was trying to reach.) I'll be editing my first post incase anyone runs into the same issue.
