If I re-start Spotify after that it will go back to being black. It's been like this for several weeks now and it's really annoying.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;We'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the app, following exactly this &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Answers/How-can-I-perform-a-clean-reinstall-of-the-app/ta-p/4746485" target="_blank"&gt;guide&lt;/A&gt;. Make sure you clear all app data and cache before reinstalling. This is a bit different than a normal reinstall.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;You can also try downloading the app from our &lt;A href="https://www.spotify.com/us/download/other/" target="_blank"&gt;Website &lt;/A&gt;instead of the MS Store.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Apart from that let us know if you can play music from the Web player.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>I've re-installed Spotify several times, using the guide as well as downloading Spotify both from your website and the windows store. Still there problem remains. Another issue I've begun to encounter since the past 1-2 week(s) is that whenever I go online on either device all of the songs that are downloaded for offline listening get removed and they all begin to re-download every single time.</description>

&lt;P&gt;In case your offline contents keep disappearing it's possible you've encountered an &lt;STRONG&gt;Ongoing Issue&lt;/STRONG&gt; that we're currently investigating. We suggest having a look at &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/All-Platforms-Music-keeps-un-downloading/idi-p/5034258" target="_self"&gt;this&lt;/A&gt; thread and adding your&amp;nbsp;vote by clicking on the &lt;STRONG&gt;+VOTE &lt;/STRONG&gt;button. Make sure you follow the steps under &lt;STRONG&gt;Status Update&lt;/STRONG&gt; as well.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;It'll also be useful to &lt;STRONG&gt;Subscribe&lt;/STRONG&gt; in the three-dots menu at the top right corner next to the title. That'll make sure you stay up-to-date with any relevant updates about this.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;It's also worthwhile to&amp;nbsp;check your host files for Spotify entries. Even though it was written for another topic, this &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Answers/Can-t-access-the-Web-Player/ta-p/4631438" target="_blank"&gt;page &lt;/A&gt;has instructions on how to do this.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;If none of these steps does the trick - does this happen on other devices as well? We'd appreciate the make, model, OS version and exact &lt;A href="https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Answers/How-can-I-check-which-version-of-the-app-I-m-running/ta-p/4979337" target="_blank"&gt;Spotify version&lt;/A&gt; on all devices, where this is happening.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;Sorry to hear that you haven't been able to use the Desktop app for so long.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;First of all, make sure Spotify&amp;nbsp;is added as an exception to any firewall and anti-virus software you're running. Try launching the app as Administrator.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Note that if your app is set to a language not using the standard roman alphabet, this might also be causing the issue. We've seen a couple of threads where users had reported that setting the app to English has fixed the issue.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
