No Sound on Nexus 7

For any song, even ones I have downloaded, Spotify on my Nexus 7 says that a song is playing, but no sound is produced from the headphone jack or built-in speakers. Other apps can produce sound, and I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling spotify with no success. If anyone has had this problem before help is much appreciated.

I just had the same problem - but i fixed it!

just take out your battery and it should work 🙂 at least it does on HTC

Restarting the device often fixes this issue. Easier than trying to remove the battery from a nexus 7 🙂

I'm having this issue after replacing the USB/Audio port and speakers. I've noticed the sound works with the back cover off, though, during reboot, but when I put it all the way on, the sound dies. So related to contacts in back cover, maybe? Never got sound from headphones under any circumstance.
