Songs repeat every time I shuffle

I recently moved from premium to free. I loved the shuffle on premium...but since I moved to free I've heard the same half a dozen songs at least every time I shuffle in my main playlist. It's not repeating everything, but I can guarantee that Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer is going to play in the first half hour EVERY TIME. It's a playlist with almost 8,000 songs. That simply should not happen.

I've seen several posts saying that playlists are only shuffling the first 50 or so songs, but I don't think this is what's happening because there are also songs sprinkled in that I haven't heard in ages. I just want to not have to delete these songs out of the playlist to not hear them several times a day.

I tried an experiment and tracked the songs that were played. On "shuffle", it played the following songs from the song list shown on the web player:

#2, #1, #8, #9, #4, #11, #3, #5, #14, and #17. Out of almost 8,000 songs. How is this shuffle? I don't get it.

I have the exact same problem. My playlists play in the same order every time I listen to the free version on shuffle. It us getting really admitting that there is no way to actually reshuffle a playlist to generate a new play order.

Hi, if you have tablet or laptop you can choose the song you want with unlimited skips and free shuffles

Thanks for the help. I don't own a tablet or a computer. I don't understand why this is such a hard thing to fix and make a playlist shuffle songs.

In the free version this worked really well before, it seems with the latest software updates this has been changed.
