Using a lot of storage

Is it normal that spotify uses 2.5 GB of internal storage (no offline playlist, I checked) on an android device (samsung a5 2016)?

I know I can delete it, but don't feel like loggin in again etc.

I just want the app to be light

Hey BG1986,

The Spotify Android app size is only 108 MB.

The rest of your 2.5 GB is partly cache but primarily songs which you have stored offline.

If you would like the app to take up less space I would recommend following the steps listed bellow, and not downloading songs to listen offline. Keep in mind that this means that you will need to stream all of the songs you listen to, which will use up data limits faster than usual and you will not be able to access your music without an internet connection.

If you would like to delete the cache and saved data, follow the steps bellow:

Open the Spotify app
Touch your library
Touch the settings icon (gear)
Scroll down to the bottom
Touch delete cache and saved data
Touch okay

I forgot to mention I don't have any offline items (have unlimeted mobile data, so no need). I already deleted cache and saved data multiple times (and tired of loggin in again and adjusting preferences).

One week ago I deleted cache and now the data stored is already 1,14 GB (app indeed only 99.57MB).

I know the solution is getting more storage on my phone, but it's a company phone so I don't feel like doing it.

Any other ideas why it saves so much? cache cannot be more than 1 GB in one week right? I am listening on high quality for streaming.

Hey,

The cache should definitely not be using that much storage space...

Try reinstalling the app following the instructions listed here.

I followed those steps and re installed the application and its back at 1.13 GB data, see screenshot.

I just noted the same issue.

I have about 300 songs offline, but Spotify uses 14 GB of storage!

Just guessing here, but how much data does the 'behind the lyrics' setting use?

Will clear my stored data and remove behind the lyrics setting and see if it changes anything.

How can we can transfer our playlists to an ad card if we don't see the option in the settings?? Please help!
