Music stops playing when on other apps

I've been having this problem for a while now, if I start playing music on Spotify and then go on another app, the music just stops and I have to go on the Spotify app to start it again. I tried reinstalling, relogging but nothing has yet solved this.

Phone: Sony T3

Android version: 4.4.4

I don't use other music players, only Spotify. I did just test the built-in phone music player and it works fine on other apps.

Try reinstalling spotify following all the steps here. If the problem still happens, please post the following information:

Device make and model
Android version
Spotify version
