Spotify Automatically Starts Playing

I wonder if anyone can help. I am using a OnePlus 5T with the latest Spotify software (8.4.46.575).

The issue is fairly simple to explain but very annoying! Spotify will open, randomly, and start playing recent music.

It doesn't always play the 'last song' that I listened to. Closing the application doesn't seem to address the issue either.

I've tried deleting the application and downloading it again but this has made no difference.

Does anyone have a resolution to this?

What Android version are you using? Also, did this start happening after an app update? Has this ever happened while your phone is locked?

Lastly, when you reinstalled, did you follow these exact steps?
