topic Playing music with Spotify through Android Auto causes Spotify to play music randomly in Android

For the past month or so, whenever I listen to music in my car (play Spotify using Android Auto), my phone (a Galaxy S7) will randomly start playing the beginning of the album I was listening to after I stop the car and unplug my phone.

It will continue randomly starting to play every couple minutes until I do a hard restart of the phone. Restarting Spotify and/or Android Auto does not help the issue, and closing the music popup when it appears only ends the specific playthrough, which starts again a couple minutes later.

I don;t know if this is some strange memory loop caused by an errant function in Spotify or Android Auto, but it does actively make me not use Spotify unless I'm on long drives because I don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to dig out my phone and do a hard restart while carrying things in to work.
