Why is there a one and why doesnt it go away?

I guessed it must be a new notification or such bit it just doesnt want to go away...

Its so irritating..

What device, operating system, and Spotify version is this happening on? Does restarting your device make a difference?

I use my Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus with android 8.0.0 with the Spotify
version 8.4.46.575 armV7.
Restarting doesnt change a thing 😕

I noticed I had that orange badge on the Spotify icon too. Apparently it pops up when you're listening to something on Spotify. It disappears when you remove (swipe left or right) the Spotify "control" on the "notification" bar on your Android. Worked for me, but the badge still pops up every time I have Spotify going on background.

I use Samsung Galaxy S9 with latest Spotify version.

Did you notice this happen after updating to Android 8.0?

If you head to your phone Settings > Notifications > Spotify > Allow Notification Dot > toggle Off, are you able to remove the icon?
