Smartphone: OnePlus 5T
Tested with the following ROMs: Official Rom (OxygenOS 5.0.3 - Android 8.0), LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1), AICP 13.1 (Android Ice Cold Project - Android 8), Resurrection Remix (Android 8), Official Rom (OxygenOS 4.7.6 -and the previous Versions- - Android 7.1.1)
Bluetooth Device: Seat Leon ST 5F8 (2016 model) with Media System Plus, Audi TT(2015 model) and a Fiat Doblo (2016 model), Creative MUVO 2 Bluetooth Speaker
Spotify Subscription: Premium

Hello,
I have a problem with the Spotify Android app while streaming songs via Bluetooth.

When I play a song, the first title is shown correctly. When playing the second title, the Metadata stays at the previously played Title, this behavior continues with every song I play (even if I skip to a specific song. It always shows the previously played song), until I reconnect my Bluetooth connection to my car multimedia system. Then the same thing happens again.

Another Bug I found with Android 8 is when I disconnect my Smartphone from a Bluetooth Device while playing music, the music won't stop and continues to play. This Happens with every Bluetooth device I own.
If I downgrade from any Android 8.x Rom to an Android 7.x.x Rom, the wrong metadata Bug is gone. Now everything is shown Correct.

After watching the behavior of the two Bug, I think something is wrong with the Android app on Android 8.x. Both Bugs occur with every Android 8.x rom I flashed on my OnePlus 5T.

If you need any more information or test done by me, I will try to respond as quickly as possible.

What I have already tried:

Different Playlists/Radios
Pausing / continuing the song.
Reinstall Spotify.
Clear Cache/Dalvik Cache.
Reset to factory settings (Car System & Smartphone)
Different Bluetooth Audio codecs (aptX HD, aptX and SBC)
Dirty flash from OxygenOS 4.7.6 - Android 7.1.1 to OxygenOS 5.0.3 - Android 8.0
Clean flash (full wipe in recovery) the above said Android 8 Roms
Stream the music via WiFi, Mobile Data, Offline Mode
Tested in other Cars: Audi TT(2015 model) and a Fiat Doblo (2016 model)

What I cannot try:

Test with another Bluetooth Device (I have no other Bluetooth receiver with a built in display)
Test with another Smartphone (none of my family/friends have a smartphone running Android 8.x)

What helped / solved the Bugs:

Downgrading to Android 7.1.1 (Official Rom - OxygenOS 4.7.6)

Funny, i got the same issue with Android 7.1.2 LineageOS / Resurruction Remix on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Even on Spotify and Deezer on an VW Discover Media.

Still the same here. I have this issue with Android 7 & 8, using RR Oreo on Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Tried some roms and changing AVRCP Version, bug is still there.

Using another Android Phone (Xiaomi Mi A1 with Android one) is solving this problem, everything is fine there.

I'm having this same issue. Spotify worked absolutely fine with my previous Samsung but this issue keeps happening with my new OnePlus 5t.

Is there a resolution? It is driving me crazy.

Same problem here. I should try to change the AVRCP version to 1.4 instad of 1.6 and see if it gets any better.

I come back with my answer later, when I have tried that. 🙂

Ye, that didn't help.

But it seems like a Spotify problem because different phone models got the problem or maybe they got the same bluetooth chip or something.

I had no problem with this with my Samsung or my iPhone, only now with my Oneplus 5T.

I noticed that my phone does work okay with my partners ford. It just doesn't work with my audi anymore (Samsung worked fine with with my Audi!) Very annoying. I'm hoping an update comes to fix it.

Have a xiaomi redmi note 4 with lineageos oreo. Sees there is a Bug in some oreo roms, not depending on the phone.
