I wonder if i can automatically play all spotify music through the Neutron Music Player app. Does anyone have other tips for improving sound quality using a Sony Xperia S with igrado headphone?

You can only play Spotify tracks through the Spotify app as they are DRM encrypted

One way to improve sound quality (other than ensuring you've set Extreme Streaming) might be to use a headphone amp . See:

Note though that the DAC component wont work on smartphones.

Depends on the phone and the DAC/headphone amp. My car rig has a Galaxy S3 >OTG (on the go cable)>Alpine Glacier DAC/headphone amp>headphone jack in car stereo. It doesn't get much better than this. I also use Neutron Player Pro to stream or play 24 bit audio. Every audio app or player will run through this DAC. It's nothing short of amazing.
