SMS failing because of spotify?

I had no real issues with my textmessaging on my HTC One S until I installed Spotify. It takes ages to write a text and ages to send or receive one as well. Has anyone had this problem? I assume it is because of Spotify since it occured at the same time when I installed the programme.

If you force close the spotify app does the problem stop? And then come back when you start the app again?

The problem is still there unfortunatley. Might it have something to do with the fact that Spotify in saved in my phone memory and not sd card?

Nope. If the app is not running it is not using any resource except the RAM its stored in. Its very unlikely to be spotify causing it. Did you try restarting your phone? Do you have the sms app set to delete off messages as the numbers start to grow?
