Wear OS native app removed?

Not talking about the built in Spotify integrated functionality that pops up whenever you start playing on your phone, but there use to be a (pretty horrible) stand alone app that you could install, i forget if it was through the play store or if it was a companion app that could be installed after installing spotify on your phone.

It wasnt worth using unless you found yourself always away from your phone, but with the watch still connected to wifi, and also diddnt mind listening to spotify on your watch speaker (it also only showed your saved playlists, no modern daily mixes or radio) so I wouldnt be suprised if it was finally pulled, just wondering if that really is the case or if something might be up with my watch (since it isnt showing as available in the companion app or standard play store anymore).

The app should still be available, but it's best to use Connect with your watch for the best experience as mentioned in this article.

Do you know if the native app on the watch was on the store, or something that should be installable on the watch soon as you install Spotify on your paired phone?

Right now neither are showing a stand alone installable Spotify app when checking the play store on the watch. The standard Spotify connect with the watch works flawless however.
