Cant Skip song in car

Hello, i am driving an 2012 Ford fiesta and am playing spotify through and Aux cord from a Samsung S7, i cannot skip the song with buttons on the wheel but can mute and adjust the volume.

any fixes for this?

Does your AUX cord have 3 "bands" on the connector? If it only has 2 then your cable does not support the extra functionality (like skipping songs etc).

Are you sure your car supports controlling a media device via AUX? The volume and mute is most likely controlling your car's audio system, not your phone. So it would make sense that track skipping isn't working.

There's nothing to fix, you might just have to invest in a bluetooth head unit / Android Auto solution.
