multiple problems with spotify app

(USA, LG G6 running Android 8.0.0)

For the past couple weeks I've been unable to skip more than a few tracks by swiping on the album covers, spotify doesn't show notifications, and liking music in the daily mix doesn't appear to do anything. help?
