My Question or Issue

Sometimes when I open the app and try and play a downloaded playlist it randomly starts, stops, skips tracks back and forward, turns the volume up and down, and opens Google Assistant.

Other times it just won't play at all, and you have to wait a few minutes before you can play anything.

Other times the audio cuts out but the track is still playing.

Let's try to reinstall the app first. You can read here how to do this. If it didn't help, try to find out if it happens with your headphones plugged in, or also when listening on speaker. It's possible that a set of headphones malfunctions and sends commands to your phone without input.
