Lock screen widget only working when status bar notification is on

My Question or Issue

I finally got my lock screen widget to work on my Huawei Mate 20 Pro, but when I turn off 'Display in status bar' in Playback notifications (while leaving 'Lock screen notifictions' on 'show'), the lock screen widget disappears. Is there a way to keep using the lock screen notification (for playback) while turning the status bar notification off? My status bar is full enough without the spotify icon.
