Mobile app won't stop crashing

Hi,

This started about two weeks ago. Every time I open the app, it crashes within two seconds. It only plays music when I put my phone on airplane mode, then play a downloaded playlist, then quickly minimize the app, and finally taking the phone off airplane mode. I can also play if I'm using Spotify through the web player and the desktop app, but if I try to open the mobile app, it will crash, no matter where I am controlling the music.

I've already tried re-installing the app and clearing the cache many times, but the problem still occurs. I have a premium family plan, and other people on my account can use the mobile app fine. When I log into a different spotify account, the mobile app works fine. Any ideas? Thank you!

Hello,

Searching in Internet and in Spotify community took me to this thread, which i'm also getting hit with, same symptom.

I've tried every workarounds posted (clear data, clear cache, uninstall, clear data, clear cache, reboot phone, stop running background apps), short of factory reset, which i can't. I also have Galaxy Gear S3 that connects to my same Spotify Premimum account using same username and password, fine. No issue.

If i turn on the airplane mode, i can keep the Spotify app running, no crash.

Soon as i disable the airplane mode, to wifi or mobile network, app crashes.

Sometimes the app opens for few more seconds, then crash.

I have to hink that this symptom started happening since last few weeks. Prior to that the app did not crash.

Pease help to troubleshoot and root cause.

Indeed, like the original post says, i too can login using a different Spotify account.

And no app crash.

As a test, i created a new Free account.

Cleared data, cleared cache.

Restarted app. Logged into my new, test account.

No crash. Only difference is, i have extra button at the bottom for "premium" to sign up.

Is my original Spotify premium account corrupted, that's causing the app to crash?
