My Question or Issue

I can't seem to get the Music Controls to appear on the lock screen of the Huawei Mate P20 Pro no matter what I do. I've researched multiple solutions and none of them seem to work.

Here are some of the things I've tried:

1) Enabling all notifications and 'show on lock screen' for Spotify app

2) Enabling all permissions for Spotify app

3) Disabling Smart lock screen notifications

None of these have allowed the music player control options to appear on the lock screen. Please help!

Quick update, sometimes the music controller pops up but only once in a while, and then it goes back to disppearing.
