My Question or Issue

I think this started with a recent update to the Android app. The current version of the app is draining my battery without me ever opening the app. It's using significantly more battery than any other app, including those that I'm actually using. Again, this is only in the background, I'm not even opening or using Spotify. The only service I consistently see running is "SystemAlarmService".

The recent update didn't fix this. I'm now on version 8.4.85.1006 and the app is still draining my battery without me ever opening or using the app.

Same problem here. Every time I checked the battery usage, Spotify was always at the top of the list and the app wasn't even running and didn't show in the active tasks list. And it was usually using 10% of the battery since the last charge.

I'm now using Amazon Unlimited which doesn't use battery unless it's actually running and doesn't use as much even when it's running. I'm kind of missing Spotify so I hope they fix this soon.
