There seems to be a thread about this in the issues board and Spotify seems to be working on this. You can track it here and vote for it to catch more attention. I hope this gets fixed soon.

As you can see in the link @Mantisentil posted this problem is known for almost a year now but still not fixed.

A workaround is to open spotify in splitscreen (if you don't know how to do that you can do a quick Google search) for some reason the option isn't disabled if you scroll down then.

Just make sure you quit the settings page before quitting splitscreen and you'll be fine!
