My Question or Issue

Is it only me, or does Spotify use extreme background data?

in 1,5 days it already has 7,9MB background data usage. Pretty sure it's because it synchronizes itself all the time with Spotify Desktop and shows the current track. It's ok for me, if it does this while the app was started and just "minimized". But stop this when the app was closed with the taskmanager. It just waste my mobile data.

It's terrible even with an 2GB dataplan per month.

That's odd.

I've never experienced this in many years of using the app on Android systems.

You can try to set the app to the offline mode while you're not using it or not being in a Wi-Fi to minimize the data usage. ^^

hey @Nico

i already denied the background data usage in the system settings and that works just fine. But when i'm in the car Spotify won't start, while in background because of this setting. So the better solution is to reduce the data usage in the app.
If there are any log files you need to check the background data usage i can send them to you. Just let me know where to find them.
