Can't skip songs or pause when screen is locked

When my screen is locked, when I click to wake it up and press skip/pause it doesnt do anything. This also happens when I unlock my screen and drag the top bar down. I actually have to go into the app to be able to change songs and pause etc.

This never used to be a problem before now, I always used to be able to skip songs and pause from the lock screen.

Just to check with you - are you still experiencing this issue? If so, have you tried any troubleshooting steps such as:

clean reinstall
restarting the device
allowing all permissions for Spotify: Mobile Settings> Apps> Spotify> Permissions. Allow everything you see there.

If that does not help, let us know your OS and Spotify version.
