Hi Team,

I have an issue wherby as soon as i cast to my chromecast, an ad (The story of the Clash) starts playing then freezes. I am forced to shut and reopen spotify but am unable to cast. It plays fine on the phone. I have rebooted both the phone and chromecast. Always the same ad.

Any suggestions?

I get exactly the same issue on Android TV (Sony) both Google Cast or Spotify Connect seem to hang on certain advertising. Its ok if used purely on the phone. It seems connected to my issue that only 3 or 4 songs will play then it just stops playback which has to be restarted.

The Story of clash is one of the advertisements which kills my Google Cast/Spotify Connect. If that appears I can't recover and have to give up on casting. Unfortunately ive not found a work around.

I have fixed the issue(for now) by factory resetting the Chromecast and
reinstalling Spotify.
