Android x Spotify Issues Starting This Week

My Question or Issue

Starting this week the Spotify widget no longer shows up on the header dropdown (in the space where it usually sits next to my wifi icon, do not disturb icon, etc. if you pull down from the top of the screen).

The more pressing issue is that my music/podcasts will now only play if my screen is unlocked. Every time I close my phone, with Spotify running, the music pauses/restarts at random intervals which makes it impossible to listen to...

I'll be traveling all next week and would LOVE to get this resolved before I leave since Spotify is a godsend on long flights.

Hey @Nicole_LACA, help's arrived.

Let's try a couple of things. First, make sure that you have the background apps setting turned on for Spotify, and that you have the latest OS version installed. After that, reinstall the app with these steps.
