Back button not working unless full app open

My Question or Issue

I've seen threads about this however they're marked "solved" and nothing has worked for mine.

The back button doesn't work in lock screen, from the notification bar or on any bluetooth connection (i.e. car stereo buttons).

I have tried clearing data, cache, force stop, updating the app and uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing has worked.

We shouldn't have to open the full app to go back, especially when we pay for premium.

Let's not get me started on the library update and issues there.
