Google clock is now muted

For the last 2 weeks I was getting an error when I tried to use Google Clock to play a song on Spotify. I would get a beeping sound and an error message. The message was along the lines of 'can't connect to local device". Today I noticed an update to the apps and now I don't hear anything. No error message and no sound.

Had the same problem for 2 weeks as well. Cant believe the issue still has not been fixed.
