Ext sd card storage working

I've seen some comment that the feature whereby the app would choose the location with most avail storage upon install wasn't working. Possibly that was in 5.12 and fixed since then. I have Android 4.1.2 on an S3.

This morning I had 5.13.63 and the storage loc was internal. A real prob. Cleared the cache, cleared data, uninstalled. Restarted and reinstalled 5.13.63. Downloading bunch of playlists again, they are going onto the ext card. I can see the app folder files on the ext card and the avail space internal isn't changing and on external it is going down. Works for me!

I did all the steps suggested and spotify is still storing on my internal memory, even though I have more available space on my sd card. I have a new galaxy s4.

Ideas?

You did the complete uninstall and then a restart, before reinstalling, I hope. And you have 4.1.2?
