App Notifications Pop Up on Lockscreen

My Question or Issue

While listening to spotify through another device such as amazon alexa and the song finishes, spotify app decides to pop up a notification on my phone, the only solution I have found so far is to block all notifications which is not a solution at all... Doing so disables the ability for me to control the music using my notifications altogether and stops my smart watch accessing it. This has been on going for months, I have the latest app version, I've reset the cache, data, everything, changed phone, nothing works.

You could check this article out on how to disable push notiication on your phone so that this doesn't happen again.
