Android App Breaks Playback on All Other Apps

I installed the android app for Spotify 2 days ago on my Samsung Galaxy S8+. After installing the app I suddenly had this problem where playback on all other apps would randomly pause. I notice this happening when watching videos on Youtube, listening to news using the Google Assistant, playing music using Google Play Music, and even watching a video that I just recorded using my phone camera. These apps would play for anywhere from 10 seconds to 10 minutes for the playback would randomly pause.

I uninstalled the Spotify app this afternoon and everything has returned to normal and I have no problems with playback on these other apps.

I'm using the latest patches on my Galaxy S8+ and installed the latest Spotify app that was available on the Google play store this week.

Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? Has anyone else experienced this?
