Spotify pausing (Android/Samsung S10e)

Spotify keeps pausing during songs. I have checked and it is not on the sleep list and it is allowed to run in the background. Strangely, the music will unpause itself after a while, or when I unlock the phone. It is not a signal/wifi issue as this happens even when the song is downloaded. Very frustrating as i've been using spotify premium for almost a decade now and never had problems.
