My Question or Issue

Hi. I've been having this problem for a few weeks now. If I have Spotify paused for an extended period of time, and I reopen the app to resume playing music or anything, it will play the last song I listened to, and then nothing else. This happens on both my phone, and when I plug my phone into my vehicle and have Android Auto running. It just stops, and I have to reopen the app, in which case it will start from the very first song of the album or Playlist I'm listening too. This is getting very frustrating as I don't want to be opening the app while driving just to get it to work. Any help is appreciated.
