[Android Auto]: Spotify turns on offline mode

Hey,

When I connect my phone via USB to my car computer that uses Android Auto, Spotify uses offline mode instead of online [the Internet is on]. It is extremely annoying because I need to download music first. Actually, the search does not work at all, I cannot reach to my "home screen" (only recently played). I cannot listen to songs/playlists other than "downloaded" ones. When I hit a long road - it is pretty disappointing.

I wonder is it a bug or it is how poorly the feature has been developed (if so, are you planing to change that)? Is there any way to make it working in online mode when connected to Android Auto?

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this.

You can start off by trying a clean reinstall of the app to make sure you have the latest version and that any outdated files are removed.

Give your device a quick restart as well before you open the newly installed app.

If that doesn't solve the issue, could you let us know if you experience this on 3/4G, Wi-Fi or both?

If a family member or a friend has a Spotify account, it could also be a good idea to ask them to log in on your device to see if the app behaves the same way.
