Erratic behaviour when using Spotify on my BMW

My Question or Issue

Spotify is a nightmare since the 2 years I have my BMW 5-series 😞
Every time it's a guessing game :

- Will it work fine ? (yes 20% of good behaviour)

- Will the sound won't work ? (although Waze sounds are sent to car) -> I have to restart Spotify and pray that it works, or restart again ... and again ...

- Will it work ... then stop working ?

- Will the information about the song be displayed ?

- Will the controls via car buttons work or not ?

- Will I get a phone call (in which case Spotify will certainly play without sound afterwards) ?

In a rental Mini -> it was even worse ...

Of course I reconnected numerous times my phone, I changed my phone (on a Xiaomi A1 Android 9 it was even worse), I tried everything I can think of...

But still it will or will not work based on ... no special trigger I can think of. Completely random.
