Spotify in Offline Mode on Android Auto is basically unusable

My Question or Issue

Whenever in Offline mode on Spotify and I connect to my car's Android Auto, the only music that I can play are from Playlists. When I navigate to the Artists tab, it will display "No Artists". When I navigate to albums, the downloaded albums are listed but when I select any of them, it will immediately stop whatever I've been playing and proceed to do absolutely nothing.

I am able to select albums and artists from the actual phone app and play music properly when controlling from the phone but on the Android Auto interface, it is essentially impossible.

Thanks for reaching out.

Such issues are usually caused by some of the app files getting damaged. To that end, could you perform a clean reinstall of both Android Auto and Spotify and let us know if that did the trick? You can find instructions on how to do a clean reinstall of the Spotify app here. Note that you'll have to download your songs again afterwards.

If that doesn't fix things, could you log in to a friend or family members account and let us know if you can replicate the issue? We'd also appreciate a recording of what you see at your end. You can use the Insert Video option in the post editor, just make sure to hide any sensitive info.
