Queue Doesn't Auto-Clear When I Select a Playlist

My Question or Issue

Perhaps I'm just not aware of how to use the queue properly, but...

My typical usage of Spotify is to queue up several podcast episodes that I can listen to at home using the desktop app, and then when leave the house and am using the phone app I switch to a music playlist. The queue is shared across devices, and the annoying part is that queue content is prioritized over playlist content.

What would be convenient is if hitting 'Shuffle Play' on a playlist would auto-clear the queue, since from the app's perspective I've chosen the playlist instead of the queue. At the very least, please add a 'Clear Queue' button to the mobile app. Right now I have to go the Queue and delete each item one-by-one on the mobile app, before starting a playlist.

Better yet would be if the content that I had queued up (again, typically all podcast episodes) was saved into a temporary playlist or something like that, so that I could return to that queue later. In theory a normal playlist could be used to do the same thing, but podcast episodes can't be added to a playlist.

You're right that the queue is shared across devices and that hitting Shuffle doesn't auto-clear it. However we're always open to new ideas 🙂 The best way to get yours noticed and considered is if you create an idea for it in the Community by going here - that way, other users will also be able to vote for it.
