Using TV as a remote

Are you supposed to be able to use Spotify Connect from the Anroid TV app? I want to play music through my PC speakers and sound card while I'm working from my work laptop using the PC monitor. I'd prefer to be able to control it from the TV rather than my phone. I just can't work out if I'm missing something on the TV app or if this functionality isn't even there in the first place.
