Phone Volume locking at max when playing

My Question or Issue

When I'm in or out of the app with a song playing the phone volume locks at maximum and no matter how much I try to turn it down and keep it down it locks back at max. If nothing is playing I have volume control in or out of the app. I'm mystified

Would you mind letting us know if you've already tried performing a clean reinstall of the app? This is often an overlooked step, but it can be helpful to get rid of any corrupted files that might be causing issues.
