Lock screen widget not working Galaxy S4

Description

Basically when i use spotify and have the lock screen set to swype to unlock sometimes the spotify widget looks and work ok. other times it just flickers and is not usuable and sometimes its not even visible.

What are the steps you took to get to the error/issue?

(We need to know what you are doing so we can do the exact same to try and get the same error)

Sadly i have not found a pattern for re-producing this every time. It happens very often but not a clear pattern. Just by using is i'm sure

you can make see this.

What I expected to happen

When i press the power button or home i expect to see the Spotify widget.

(FYI for the below points: Android devices tend to refer to the internal memory as "SD Card" and the SD card you inserted yourself as "External SD Card")

Is your device rooted?

Are you using a custom ROM, if so which one, exactly?

Did you set your external SD card as storage location?

No (I dont see this option in the settings but i do hope this gets added since S4 has little internal memory)

Did you manually install an older version before installing the latest version from the Play Store?

Do you have the same issue when switching between WiFi/Mobile Data (If applicable)?

Yes

If you said "No", when does the issue not occur?

When using WiFi, 2G, 3G, 4G

I just saw it happen again, when i wake the phone up the widget is flickering on the right corner (you can see it if you use HD quality) and is not showing correctley, after i bring spotify to the front it starts working again. As said it comes and goes.....

Yeah, it comes, it goes and on some phones it doesn't appear at all. Are you using a stock launcher?

I have this occasionally as well, however I always thought it was one of those annoying Android bugs.

Mine does this as well when i have my earphones plugged in. When i take them out the widget appears. Weird.

Yes stock launcher here and ROM.

I personally suspect this to be related to 4.2.2 update. In the new android update the lockscreen can have other pages which i actually dont use at the time. I also see the exact same problem in Tunein Radio.
